Hi, I met Mick when he was in Heaven, touring with Judas Priest. I'm sure he's resting in peace and has someone there with him he never knew about. I don't know much about his life after the short time I had met him, that was over 25 years ago. I wished I could have spoke with him again, but hadn't heard of him coming back to the United States. My heart goes out to all of you missing him.

Well Mick I was quite saddened to learn of your passing just before heading off overseas on 23/12/2009. I must say that I spent a fair amount of time during that flight thinking about our early teens and the fun times we had back then. There was plenty of kicking the football up and down the street using our respective driveways as the goals. The scoreline was fairly even in the end. Then of course there were the many hours spent in my parent’s lounge room with Micky B. singing and playing along with makeshift instruments to Satisfaction, Tin Soldier, Gloria and pretty much the entire Jimi Hendrix Smash Hits collection. We blew the crap out of that old record player and microphone. We dreamt of starting a band and learning to play real instruments and I remember the day I got an amp for you to plug in the guitar you’d just bought. I connected it up in your bedroom, turned up the volume and strummed a few notes. You came running in saying “hey Rob how did you learn to play like that? That was great!” It was the first time either of us had heard your guitar through an amp and neither of us had a clue how to play it. We did dream of playing in a rock band but mate you ended up living that dream. I’ve seen articles referring to you as a rock god and going by your achievements and the tributes written here there’s no reason to doubt it. Rest in Peace Mick, those teenage memories will never be forgotten.

1979-1980,in a music store in Paris with a hign school friend, watching a promoted new album: Rose Tatto\'s first lp,been impressed by the picture, the group on stage, that little bald man looking at his guitarist, simulating a guitar playing...like us in our bedrooms listening to Scorpions or Motorhead,no \"chi-chis\", no strass, no make-up, only brute Rock\'n\'Roll, just seeing that layer! I kept it in memory, didn\'t buy the thing( no money), heard \"Rock\'n\'Outlaw\" on the radio some days after, recognized it before hearing the name of the band! No disappointement! No treachery, the packaging looked like the inside product!I loved rock rythm guitar before, so Cocks riffs were my \"remedy\" to teenager blues! The sound of that album is still a \"reference\", Angry never sung so perfectly dirtly! Astra Wally\'s intro is master piece, see the You tube video of that tune in 81, there\'s no more to say after seeing Angry giving all that he has and even more, while the rythm machine behind is leading us to trance as well as a deedjereedoo would...So Thank you Mister Cocks, Mister Wells, Mister \"Digger Royal\" for those moments of Highness that inlightened my youth.

To ALL the Tatts Family, my deepest condolences to you all, I am living in Germany and I have just heard this tragic news.
As an ex participant in the Rose Tattoo Phenomenon during the 70's and a respectful friend of all of the Band, I offer my sincere and heartfelt sorrow to you all for the Great Loss of one of the World's True Rock Guitarists and a person that will always remain in my heart, soul and memories.
Michael, I will be up there soon, save me a seat at the Foldback Desk..

Sadly, all the best guys are departing. Pete Wells, Lobby Lloyde, Thorpie, Rilen. Mick Cocks was a legend. His 'stutter' gun playing style was unique and rapid. He was damn cool. How cool ? Lets not forget Guns n Roses asked him to join them. That was not widely known - from memory they asked Wells at one point too. I saw him play across many pubs over many years. I saw him play with Pete Wells band, with TMG, with the Wild Colinial Boys, with Heart Attack...and of course with the Tatts. I never saw him with Heaven, but the stuff he rcoded with them was truly great. We have lost another of our genuine true breed. You can never replace guys like this. They are authentic. Cliche maybe, but I hope he's now playing guitar somewhere, left of Pete Wells, as he always was......rest in peace.

Mick was one of the backbones of the band and was a hige part in creating the sound we all love to this day. As as far as anybody who got to know him goes, he was a hell of a nice guy.

Mick saw you Angry, Pete and the boys play many times, especially great gigs with the Angels (Angel City)in Melbourne.
As a teenager I bought all your Tatts CD's and play them daily 25 years later , true 100% respect.

Very sad news. The one and only time i met Mick was around 1975, just before him and Angry headed to Sydney to create the band. I remember an affable bloke, and a black Les Paul. I was also proud to listen to his amazing rythym guitar work and say....I played in that band. R.I.P. Mick, and condolences to family and friends. Greg.
